PESHAWAR: Army beat Navy by a convincing margin 84-12 in
the last league round match of the Inter-Services Kabaddi Championship being played here at PAF Sports Complex ground on Saturday.
The thrilling match was also witnessed by capacity crowd. Army needed a
convincing victory and thus the team proved against Navy in the second match by scoring 84-12. The Army team fully dominated the proceeding and did not allow Pakistan Navy to strike back.
In the double league Championship both Army and PAF were tied at points
tally as Army beat PAF in the first match by 46-42 and on the similar score PAF secured victory against Army. Now both have four points each and to get advantage of the highest score against Navy, Army did strong efforts by winning the match on 84-12 points.
Navy will also play against PAF and if PAF succeeded in scoring more
then 84 score it would be the trophy winners of the Championship. Talking to APP, President of the NWFP Kabaddi Association and technical official of the Championship disclosed that if PAF would be succeeded of scoring more then the Army did against Navy, it will be the winner according to the double league process.
For Army Shams Latif, Hafeezullah and Absar Ali displayed their
matchless performance by keeping Navy team under tremendous pressure. Saghir Ali, Usman, Muhammad Sajjid and Muhammad Hayat were outstanding in the defense and did not give much room to Navy strikers to maneuver.
For Navy Badshah Gul, Muhammad Arshad, Muhammad Abbas and Ishtisham were
outstanding and did some resistance but overall Army dominated the match. Syed Sultan Bacha and Arbab Naseer supervised the match.
