ISLAMABAD: Insignificant rain is likely across the country till the month of December and the weather would remain dry, according to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
"No significant rain is likely across the country and the month of November will be rainless mostly. First significant rain of Winter season would occur during the month of December after which formally Winter season would set in", Assistant Meteorologist, Ruqiya Mehmood said on Monday.
Talking to APP, she said light rain is likely on Thursday in Malakand and Gilgit Baltistan while rain-thunderstorm is expected at scattered places of Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir on Friday.
"These rains would not bring significant change in the weather and we cannot term these rains as Winter's first spell", she said.
She said, "Winter season would formally start late this year and the reason is climatic changes in the region".
According to PMD report, continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country.
During the next 24 hours, mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the country including Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.
The lowest minimum temperatures recorded during the last 24 hours were Skardu and Kalat 00 C. --APP
