Chief Meteorologist predicts more rains in country

weather ISLAMABAD: Chief Meteorologist for Director General, Met department, Karachi, Abdul Rasheed has predicted more rains in various cities of the country including Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad till Tuesday. Talking exclusively to a news channel, he forecast that the wet spell might continue from Monday evening to Tuesday evening. He said rain-thunderstorm with a few heavy falls was expected at scattered places of South Punjab, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Sindh, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir while at isolated places of Islamabad, Upper Punjab and eastern Balochistan during the next twelve hours. However, downpour may trigger flash flooding and landslides in the vulnerable areas of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, he added. Temperature of some major cities recorded this morning was: Islamabad 21øC, Lahore 25øC, Karachi 27øC, Peshawar 26øC, Quetta 19øC, Gilgit and Muzaffarabad 17øC and Muree 16øC. Citizens continued to suffer due to roads inundation after intermittent rain in Karachi during last two days. --APP
