ISLAMABAD: Met office forecasted good downpours from Saturday to Monday at a number of places in the country in Punjab, Khaber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Kashmir.
Strong monsoon currents are penetrating in the country and a westerly wave is also expected to grip upper parts of the country during next 24 hours.
Whereas rain/thundershowers with isolated heavy falls are also expected at scattered places in, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and parts of Balochistan, an official of Met office told APP.
Heavy downpour may trigger flash flooding and landslides in the vulnerable areas of Punjab, Balochistan, KP, GB and Kashmir. Concerned authorities are advised to remain alert during the period, he informed.
In last 24 hours rain-thunderstorm occurred at scattered places in Punjab and Mirpurkhas division, while at isolated places in Hazara division, FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Rainfall recorded during this time span was Punjab: Lahore (City 66mm, AP 43mm), Okara 50mm, Gujranwala 21mm, Sialkot (City 10mm, AP 06mm), Bahawalnagar 04mm, Kasur 03mm, Sahiwal 02mm,
Sindh: Diplo 27mm, Islamkot, Nagerparker 24mm, Mithi 18mm, Chachro 02mm, KP: Parachinar 27mm and Kakul 01mm.
Maximum temperatures recorded on Friday was Sibbi 42øC, Dalbandin, Dadu 40øC, Peshawar 37øC, Multan, Hyderabad, Karachi 36øC, Quetta 35øC, Chitral 34øC, Dir 33øC, Islamabad 32øC, Faisalabad 31øC, Kalat 30øC, Muzaffarabad 29øC, Gilgit 28øC, Lahore 25øC, Skardu 24øC, Murree 22øC and Hunza 21øC. --APP
