Punjab IGP ordered to protect educational institutions

lahore high court LAHORE: Lahore High Court on Tuesday ordered Inspector General of Police (IGP) to provide foolproof security to educational institutions in Punjab. Justice Ali Akbar Quershi passed these orders while disposing of a petition filed by Advocate Azam Chohan regarding security of education institutions. Earlier, the petitioner's counsel arguing before the court submitted that the government was bound to protect life and property of citizens as per the Constitution. The counsel questioned the security of educational institutions and requested the court to issue directions for foolproof security. The court after hearing the arguments disposed of the petition and ordered the IGP to provide foolproof security to educational institutions. - APP
