District Coordination Officer (DCO) captain (retd) Usman said the man was recovered unhurt, expressing the hope that there might be more survivors under the debris. He said rescue workers didn’t have to pull the men out of the rubble as he himself walked out with a slight limp as rescuers cleared the rubble. Speaking to Samaa, the DCO further said: “He identified himself as Shahid and seems to be 18 years old,” Usman said. The area reverberated with chants of Allah-o-Akbar as the man miraculously appeared from the debris unharmed. Shahid is said to have been shifted to the Jinnah Hospital for treatment. Provincial authorities on Friday morning said they were hoping to find more survivors as rescue workers prepared to clear the rubble in front of the factory and move towards the rear of the building. More than 100 survivors have already been pulled from the debris of the four-storey Rajput Polyester polythene bag factory after it came crashing down on Wednesday evening, trapping dozens of people inside. -Samaa
