
ISLAMABAD: An alleged terrorist involved in December 2014 massacre of Pakistani schoolchildren has been arrested from Italy, Samaa reported Thursday.
Sources said the accused – identified as Usman Ghani of Swabi area – was nabbed by Italy police in collaboration with Interpol authorities, a key development in investigation of Peshawar school attack.
Ghani has been handed over to Federal Investigation Authority which is grilling the accused at an undisclosed location in Islamabad.
On 16 Dec 2014, Taliban militants massacred 154 people, most of them children, at Peshawar’s Army Public School.
The deadly attack prompted government to chalk out anti-terrorism National Action Plan, lift six-year moratorium on death penalties, constitute military courts and intensify army operation in tribal areas bordering Afghanistan. - Samaa
