QUETTA: Dr. Allah Nazar, the chief of Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), has been killed in an operation by security forces, according to unconfirmed reports.
“For the time being we can’t confirm it, but there are some unconfirmed reports that Allah Nazar is dead. Since a couple of operations were carried out by Frontier Corps, there is no evidence of his being alive,” Balochistan Interior Minister, Sarfaraz Bugti said at a press conference in Quetta on Tuesday.
He said the anti-insurgency operation was carried out in Balochistan’s Awaran district, considered as stronghold of banned BLF, adding that it was still underway in the area.
If Allah Nazar’s death was confirmed, it would be a major blow to insurgency in Balochistan where the outlawed Baloch outfit is involved in several attacks on security forces. - Samaa
