KARACHI: Police on Monday released a suspect in Prof. Waheed-ur-Rehman murder case, Samaa reported.
Karachi University’s Prof. Waheed-ur-Rehman was gunned down by unknown attackers in Karachi on 29 April 2015.

According to Samaa correspondent, the suspect Sami-uz-Zaman, who was arrested in June this year, was released for lack of proof of his involvement in the assassination.
Officials said a police report submitted in local Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) stated that solid evidences against the accused could not be found, hence he was released.
Police had claimed to have arrested the suspect from Gulberg area for his alleged involvement in the murder, claiming that the man was also involved in others murders.
He also remained in police custody on physical remand, but investigators failed to prove his involvement. – Samaa
