Memon defends performance of CM Shah

KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon on Sunday praised Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah as an exemplary administrator.

“All state institutions are on same page against terrorism. Karachi operation will be taken to its logical end,” he told a news conference.

All appointments have been made in the province on merit, he said.

On water crisis, Memon said the government is utilizing all available resources to address this issue.

He said the supply of 1,000 free water tankers per day to the city is being started from Monday and it will increase to 3,000 tankers during Ramazan-ul-Mubarak.

The minister said a committee to be headed by the Commissioner Karachi and the KWSB Managing Director has been constituted to ensure transparency in supply of free of cost water through tankers and to manage their expenses.

He said the DCs concerned and KWSB engineers will jointly work for the supply of tankers to the people. He disclosed that some progress has been made about investigations of Safoora Goth massacre.

The minister said the water crisis has been overcome to some extent through managing available quantity of water in the city. He further said the work on K-4 project will start this month. SAMAA/APP
