PML-N lawmaker, son killed in Kamoke firing

GUJRANWALA: A lawmaker belonging to the ruling Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) was shot dead in Gujranwala district of Punjab on Sunday night.

The attack took place in Kamoke town of Gujranwala.

According to reports, unidentified men ambushed the vehicle of MPA Rana Shamshad near his residence, killing him and his son on the spot.

His nephew was rushed to hospital, where he breathed his last.

The assailants fled the scene after the attack.

Police reached the scene and launched investigations into the incident.

In a statement, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Sunday strongly condemned the incident of firing that took place in Kamoke, Gujranwala, killing Pakistan Muslim League-N MPA Chaudhry Shamshad Ahmad and his son.

According to a PM House statement, the Prime Minister asked the authorities concerned to thoroughly inquire into the incident and bring the culprits to justice.  

He prayed that Allah Almighty may bless the departed souls with eternal bliss and give courage to the bereaved family to bear this loss with fortitude. - SAMAA
