Italy sees Pakistan army with respect, admiration

RAWALPINDI: General Raheel Sharif, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), visited Italy's Army Headquarters on Tuesday and held meetings with Italy's military leadership.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Sharif was presented guard of honor by a smartly turned out contingent of Italian Army upon his arrival at the headquarters. 

The army chief met his Italian counterpart Lieutenant General Danilo Errico.

During the meeting, matters pertaining to military to military relations, enhancing cooperation, defence collaboration and training were discussed.

Italian army chief thanked Pakistan Army for its sacrifices and role in securing the region.

The COAS also held meeting with Italian Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Claudio Graziano and discussed Regional security and defence collaboration came under discussion.

General Sharif said that Pakistan army has a lot to offer for other countries’ defence.

The CDF appreciated Pakistan's success and expertise in fighting terrorism, vowing to eliminate terrorism together.
