ISLAMABAD: PML-N and PPP have reiterated that the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is out of question, said Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Saturday.

Briefing media persons after a meeting between Prime Minister Sharif and former president Asif Ali Zardari, Dar said that both parties have agreed that there will be no compromise on any extra-constitutional demand.

“Mr. Zardari has reiterated that PPP will support PML-N and other parties for the continuation of Parliament and supremacy of constitution,” Dar said.

It has been agreed that any possible solution in this regard will be according to law and constitution.

“Our teams have held some rounds of talks with the PTI.” “We have demonstrated some flexibility despite PTI violated its commitment and entered Red Zone in larger interests.”

The next meeting with PTI will be held shortly in Islamabad, he said.  “Zardari has extended full support to PML-N for democracy and supremacy of constitution.”

All the parties have reiterated their resolve to keep the constitution and democracy supreme.

“There is a proposal that a parliamentary delegation except our party can initiate talks with protesting parties.  Representatives of other parties can go to them. However, no extra-constitutional demand will be met.” – SAMAA
