Senate praises Malala for Nobel Prize
ISLAMABAD: Senate on Friday unanimously passed a resolution paying tribute to Pakistan’s youngest education campaigner, MalalaYousafzai, for winning Nobel Peace Prize, Samaa reported.
The resolution was tabled by ANP’s Haji Adeel, congratulating Malala on behalf of all political parties in the upper house.
The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded jointly Friday to the 17-year-old girl and India's Kailash Satyarthi for their championing of children rights.
Malala, the youngest Nobel laureate, leapt to global fame after the Taliban militants tried to gun her down in October 2012. She survived the attack and was shifted to UK for treatment. - Samaa
