PM embarks on brief UK visit today
BERLIN: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will briefly visit the United Kingdom from Wednesday to Thursday (November 12-13) concluding his official visit to Germany.
During his visit, the PM will inaugurate the Pakistan-UK Energy Dialogue/Investment Conference 2014 on November 13 in London.
The conference will be attended by CEOs and leading figures of the energy sector.
In addition, the Prime Minister will also meet the British ministers, senior officials and experts in the energy sector.
The Energy Conference will focus on assisting Pakistan in seeking investments in addressing its energy needs by sharing expertise and best practices.
Yesterday, the PM, while speaking at a joint press conference along with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, said that Germany has pledged to improve its economic ties with Pakistan and cooperate in the energy sector.
"There is a lot of interest of German businessmen to invest in energy sector in Pakistan as the country is facing acute shortage of energy and the government is aggressively pursuing the policy to attract foreign investors," the Prime Minister said after their bilateral meeting. – APP
