Funeral of veteran journalist Nizami offered

LAHORE: Funeral of senior journalist Majid Nizami was offered here on Saturday.

Nizami passed away in the early hours today. He was 86.
 
The funeral prayer for late Majid Nizami was offered at Bagh-e-Jinnah this morning. Chief Minister Punjab Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif, Governor Punjab Ch Muhammad Sarwar, senior journalists, Nawa-i-Waqt group staff and a number of people from various walks of life attended the funeral.

The veteran journalist was under intensive medical care of senior doctors at a local hospital since several days.

Majeed Nizami was born in 1928 in the Punjab city of Sangla Hill.

He is survived by his daughter Rameeza Majid Nizami. (APP)
