LAHORE: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif, held a key meeting at their Raiwind residence today (Sunday) and reviewed demands put forth by protesting leaders of PTI and PAT, SAMAA reported.

Sources said the two high-ups have agreed that government should continue its efforts for mediation and reconciliation with Imran Khan and Dr. Tahirul Qadri who demand Prime Minister’s resignation.

According to sources, the Sharif Brothers have said that all demands are acceptable other than PM’s resignation and dissolution of assemblies.

Nawaz and Shahbaz also agreed that Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, PPP’s Syed Khurshid Shah and Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq should continue to play their role for government’s reconciliation with Imran Khan, whereas Sindh and Punjab governors will remain in touch with Qadri.

Sirajul Haq is likely to meet Chaudhry Nisar and Khurshid Shah today in a bid to resolve the crisis peacefully.

The PML-N leadership is of the view that dialogue is the only solution to problems and the Parliament is the only forum to make demands, sources said. - SAMAA
