PPP will not allow privatization of Pakistan Steel: Raza Rabbani

Staff ReportISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) opposition leader in the Senate, Mian Raza Rabbani, has said that his party will not allow privatization of Pakistan Steel, SAMAA reports.A session of the Senate was held on Thursday under Chairman Nayyar Bukhari. The PPP senators staged walk out from the house against proposed privatization of Pakistan SteelRaza Rabbani, Opposition leader in the Senate, said on a point of objection that the PPP would not allow privatization of Pakistan Steel and if it will be done, they would jam the system and block, National and Super highways.He said in his comments in the house over the issue that the regime intends to privatize Steel Mill to benefit its favorite industrialists but they have told clearly to the regime that it would not be permitted by the PPP.The PPP leader added that Steel Mills’ employees have been not issued salaries during last three months and only 7,000 rupees were given to each worker on Eid.The regime is not ready to render any bailout package for Pakistan Steel and reasons are being created for its privatization, added Raza Rabbani further.Raza Rabbani protested strongly against absence of Federal Production Minister from the Senate, saying there is no minister present here for giving answers to the house.
