US relations: Rabbani lays out recommendations before Parliament

Staff ReportISLAMABAD: Pakistani parliamentary body has recommended that US should stop drone attacks and chasing ‘hot pursuits’ on its soil, and review its presence in the region, SAMAA reports. The recommendations were laid out by PPP’s Senator Mian Raza Rabbani before joint sitting of the Parliament for a government policy to rebuild US-Pakistan strategic ties.The 35 recommendations made by National Security Committee (NSC) called for an immediate end to drone strikes inside Pakistan, linking the resumption of NATO supply routes with a guarantee on Pakistan’s security and sovereignty.“These are the guidelines for terms of engagement with the US. I hope that the house will make a final decision freely and sovereignly,” Rabbani expressed hope.
