Malik asked to file reply in Steel Mills scam case

Staff ReportISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Tuesday asked Interior Advisor Rehman Malik to file his written reply over his order to change a probe team in Steel Mills scam case. In his remarks, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said Rehman Malik had undermined the investigation by separating Tariq Khosa from the probe team. A three-judge bench presided over by CJ Chaudhry heard a contempt of court case against Malik. Malik said Justice Javed Iqbal had exempted him from making personal appearance before the court. The chief justice said there was no such order in the file. Justice Chaudhry said Malik had changed the course of investigation following the court’s order.
Later, the court adjourned hearing into Malik’s plea till July 27. SAMAA
