Although today’s world is abounded with young PhD holders, completing a doctorate still requires grit and, in many cases, takes a lot of years.

A Multan grandfather has completed his PhD at 91, leaving struggling scholars in envy.

Mohammad Hanif Chaudhry completed his doctorate in the Punjabi language at Zakria University in Multan.

Speaking to SAMAA TV, the nonagenarian said his research did not stop at PhD and he was researching for his upcoming books that focus on 20th century Multan.

Chaudhry said that he completed his master’s degree in 1970 and his MPhil in 2000.

His son Mohammad Amjad told SAMAA TV that he was proud of his father’s achievement.

Amjad said that his father was passionate about learning since his childhood and became known as a learned man in his youth.

Dr Mohammad Hanif has already authored 25 books.
