No overnight end to woes of flood victims: Zardari

KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari said Monday that his government would acquire helicopters on rent to rescue stranded flood victims if needed. Chairing a top-level meeting at Bilawal House about flood situation, the President said a monitoring room has been set up to supervise relief operation in flooded areas. “I myself will monitor the relief operation,” he said. Zardari further said that difficulties being faced by flood-affected people could not be resolved overnight.“Rehabilitation of flood victims is a big challenge,” he commented. All possible steps are being taken to rescue stranded flood victim, he said, adding his government will acquire helicopters on rent if needed. SAMAA
