Torrential rains, landslides kill 6 in Chitral

CHITRAL: Six people among four women were killed in torrential rains and landslides in Chitral while several mosques were demolished, sources said Friday.
According to sources, several houses were destroyed in Ochasht, Chimarkan, Mustajapande and Khorakshanda areas of Chitral due to flood and landslides caused by yesterday’s heavy rain.
Dead bodies of four women who were killed in Ochast have been recovered.
“Almost 15 to 20 houses has destroyed in the rain aftermath, while two mosques were demolished and six houses were destroyed in Khorakshanda,” government officials said.
Rescue workers and Chitral police officials are engaged in relief activities in affected areas. SAMAA
