Chief Secretary calls for accelerated work on KCR

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Secretary Sindh Fazalur Rehman
Thursday called for accelerated work on revival of Karachi Circular
Railway (KCR) and its completion within the stipulated time frame.
He was talking to a delegation of Japan Bank for International
Corporation (JBIC) which called on him at his office.
The delegation comprised Yoshio Hiro, JBIC General
Manager to Pakistan and Tadahisa Yamada, JBIC GM for Islamabad.
They exchanged views on Special Assistance for Project Formation
The Chief Secretary informed the visitors that work on KCR is
being carried out under the supervision of Karachi Urban Transport
Corporation (KUTC) and its first phase from Tower to Liaquatabad is
expected to be completed by December 2010 which would facilitate the
commuters travelling by public transport.
