Karachi-Lahore train catches fire

KARACHI: Two bogeys of the Tezgam train from Karachi to Lahore caught fire and were reduced to ashes Friday.
The cars caught fire on the Khanewal track near Riyazabad and the railways is saying because of a short circuit.
Luggage was destroyed but no casualties were reported.
Pakistan Army jawans, who were on the train, said that as they left Multan, the smell of burning came from the bogey. They said that they informed the railways as the smell spread but got no response. Then suddenly in the moving car, flames started leaping out.
According to the rescue teams, it took several hours to put it out. The burnt bogeys were separated and the train continued on its path. SAMAA
