Lahore 15 attacker dies in police custody

LAHORE: Qari Habibur Rahman, a key suspect in the Lahore 15 attack, has died in police custody, sources told SAMAA on Thursday.
According to sources, Rahman, who was arrested from Dera Ghazi Khan in the first week of July and was one of the main men behind the attack, passed away sometime between July 22 and July 23. While the police cite cardiac arrest as the reason for his death, Rahman’s relatives allege that he died due to severe torture by the police.
Rahman was affiliated with the banned militant organizations Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and Jaish-e-Muhammad and was supposed to be presented in court on Thursday morning, as his remand had expired. SAMAA
