Kidnapping gang busted in Qambar

KARACHI: The police have arrested 14 men who kidnapped for ransom in Qambar and Dadu.

They were taken with Rs 1.9 million in cash and heavy weapons, DPO Qambar Junaid Shaikh told the media Sunday. An ASI and a judge’s gunman were part of the gang.

They were on their way to Balochistan with Rs 1.9 million they were going to give dacoit Gul Bahar Mugheri of the Usman Waqu gang to free a hostage from Khairpur.

The DPO said they would get shelter on the agricultural land of former prime minister Mir Zaffarullah Jamali in Balochistan. Their main job was to get the money to the dacoits.

The DPO said that when they were arrested, a phone call was received on one of their mobile phones. It was a call from a dacoit who said: “Don’t worry if you people are arrested, we will call Mir Nadir Khan Magsi and he will manage to get you free.”
