Iranian police kill drug smuggler: State tv
TEHRAN: Iranian police have killed 1 drug trafficker and seized 1,284 kg of narcotics near the Afghan border, state television reported on Tuesday.
The clash took place near the eastern city of Taybad, the
English-language Press TV said on its web site, adding police
also confiscated arms and ammunition.
Iran's eastern border with Afghanistan and Pakistan is a
busy smuggling route for drugs and other contraband. Security
forces often clash with smugglers in the area.
