The British summertime took a turn for the worst on Wednesday when the stars of the new Superman movie, Man of Steel, walked the carpet at the European premiere in London.

The heavens opened as Henry Cavill, Michael Shannon, Amy Adams and Russell Crowe arrived at the event.

Despite the rain, the film's lead star, British actor Cavill, was glad to be back.
