Calls skipper Bradman, Lara of this generation

Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has made a bold claim about all-format skipper Babar Azam and rated him ahead of the country’s greats.

The former wicketkeeper, who served Pakistan for 11 years and shared the field with greats of the games such as Javed Miandad, Inzamam ul Haq, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis and others, believes that Babar is on another level.

"I had tweeted back in 2019 – when we were on the tour of England – I had written everyone's name whom, I had played with – Miandad, Wasim, Waqar, Inzamam, Yousuf, Younus, Saqlain,” said Rashid in a YouTube video. “But he [Babar] is head of them all.”

The 53-year-old said that he made these comments a long time ago and obviously, Babar has become a much better player since.

“We can't compare because here I'm not only talking about Babar,” he said. “All these guys, Virat, Rohit, Williamson – all these cricketers who are playing ODIs, they are batting with 10 fielders."

Moreover, he called Babar ‘the Don Bradman and Brian Lara of this generation’.
