ISI chief calls on PM Khan as PTI explores options

PTI to hold public gatherings across all districts

Inter-Service Intelligence Chief Lt General Nadeem Anjum called on Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday, a day after the Supreme Court of Pakistan restored the National Assembly and ordered a vote on the no-confidence motion against the prime minister to be held.

During the meeting held at the Prime Minister House, the prime minister and the ISI director-general discussed the prevailing situation of the country and key security issues, SAMAA TV reported.

The meeting came as Imran Khan explores his options after the apex court ruling, which leaves little room for him to maneuver. He plans to address the nation Friday night (tonight).

On Friday, Imran Khan also held a meeting of PTI’s political committee attended by Pervez Khattak, Asad Umar, Fawad Chaudhry, and Sheikh Rashed.

Hammad Azahar, Farrukh Habib, Shaukat Tarin, and Babar Awan were also present.

Sheikh Rasheed later told reporters that he had advised Imran Khan that all of the PTI MNAs should submit resignations en masse to force fresh elections.

SAMAA TV’s Abbas Shabbir reported that PTI political committee discussed the future line of action, including a campaign to reach out to the public.

Immediately after the judgement was announced Thursday evening, Imran Khan vowed to fight "till the last ball."

SAMAA TV reported that the PTI committee has decided to hold public gathering across all districts of the country and raise awareness about the “foreign conspiracy” to topple Imran Khan government.

Imran Khan reported said that the opposition was running away from elections as it didn’t want to face the public, while the PTI had emerged victorious before the people.
