Pakistan Head Coach Saqlain Mushtaq has made a bold claim about the Men in Green ahead of the one-off T20I Australia in Lahore, today.

While speaking in a virtual press conference, Mushtaq said that Pakistan can beat any team in the world.

“It [ODI] was a historical series, and Pakistan has created history. The way Pakistan's team played and became victorious, I feel very proud as a head coach to lead this unit,” said Saqlain.

“This unit can defeat any opposition on any day,” he added.

He also spoke about Pakistan’s comeback in the three-match series after losing the first match.

“Australia started the series with a strong mindset. They had a plan and strategy, which we worked upon after the first ODI loss and came up with a counter plan, which is why we were able to win the ODI series,” he said.

He also urged Pakistan spinners to put up a better show in the field while admitting the fact that Australia are better equipped to handle the slower bowlers.

“The Australian batters played spin very well. In the last 10-12 years, they have improved a lot in tackling spin bowling. They took some calculated risks and played brave cricket,” he said.

“I am not giving an excuse that our spinners did not bowl well. We need to improve our skills, be clever and improve tactically,” he concluded.
