A three-member bench of the Supreme Court will continue hearing the chief justice’s suo motu notice of the current situation after the National Assembly speaker dismissed the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan and the subsequent dissolution of the assembly by the president.
On Sunday, the court said any order of the president and prime minister will be subject to a final verdict of the Supreme Court.
Prime Minister Imran Khan will take live telephone calls from public today.
Imran Khan is no longer the prime minister after the Cabinet division de notified him. However, he will continue serving until an interim prime minister takes over. The federal cabinet and the assemblies have been dissolved. Here is the latest on the constitutional situation in the country.
