Light rain with dusty winds forecast in Karachi

New westerly system enters Sindh
Mar 02, 2022

The Met Office has predicted drizzle with strong winds in Karachi today, Wednesday, March 2.

According to Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz, a westerly system entered Sindh from Balochistan Tuesday night. "Under the influence, Karachi will receive light showers with gusty winds."

The winds will be strong and dusty but it won't pour down heavily, he assured.

Earlier, experts had said Karachi is bidding a farewell to winters and warned of sunny days ahead. The mercury is expected to reach 30 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, up north, a new series of rain and snowfall has started, especially in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Sarfaraz has blamed this on the westerly system.

The Met office has forecast rain in Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Rajanpur and other areas of South Punjab today. The weather will stay chilly in Murree and Galiyat, Quetta, Zhob and Barkhan too.
