First ODI: Dottin, Matthews star as West Indie beat Pakistan
Deandra Dottin and Hayley Matthews starred as West Indies Women defeated Pakistan Women by 45 runs in the first ODI.
Chasing a 254-run target, the Sidra Nawaz-led side only managed to score 208-9 in their allotted 50 overs on Friday.
They went off to a decent start despite losing Sidra Ameen (two) early. Opener Muneeba Ali and Ayesha Zafar did the recovery work for the Green-Caps.
Zafar walked back to the dugout after scoring just 17, while Ali went on to score 28 off 35 balls, with the help of four boundaries.
Iram Javed and Aliya Riaz played a great hand of 40 and 46 runs respectively but failed to get their side over the line.
Another noticeable contribution came from Kainat Imtiaz’s bat, who scored 24 off 60.
For West Indies, Matthews claimed figures of three for 31 in her 10-over spell. She was well supported by Shakera Selman, who picked two wickets for 35 runs in her 10 overs.
Earlier, after being asked to bat, the Carrabin side posted a decent 253-8 in their allotted 50 overs.
Deandra Dottin was the star of the show with the bat as she scored a magnificent 132 off 146 balls with the help of 18 boundaries and two maximums.
She was well supported by Matthews, who scored 57 off 67 balls. She hit seven boundaries in the innings.
For Pakistan, Anam Amin claimed five for 35 in here 10 over spell.
