This 91-year-old man lost seven family members during partition

Horrific stories make him cry even after decades

The partition of the sub-continent is perhaps the most violent phase of Pakistan's history. Millions of people were killed or displaced.

We get to hear the stories of people who lost their loved ones before reaching the country.

Yousaf, who resides in Multan's Hasan Parwana area, lost seven family members when moving to Pakistan.

The 91-year-old, speaking with Samaa TV, said only those relate to the freedom who have felt such pain.

"We came to Pakistan with three clothes. Those people know about freedom who have seen these moments unfold," he said.

His grandson Atif says his grandfather’s tales motivates him to make Pakistan a successful country.

"It felt nice to hear the stories from my grandfather. He has given many sacrifices for the country and its freedom. It is our wish to do something for Pakistan."
