Sindh triumph over Northern in National T20 Cup
Sindh registered a 25-run win over defending champions Northern in the 25th game of the National T20 Cup in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.
Imad Wasim's side, chasing a mammoth 222-run target, were restricted to 196-6 in their 20 overs.
The opening pair of Zeeshan Malik and Umar Amin both scored half-centuries and put on a 116-run partnership. However, it wasn't enough for the side to seal a victory.
Zeeshan top-scored with 61 off 35 with the help of six boundaries and three maximums whereas Amin made 51 off 42 balls with six fours and two sixes.
Pacer Mohammad Hasnain returned with figures of 3-28 in his four overs.
Sindh, after being asked to bat first, scored 221-4 in their 20 overs thanks to half-centuries by the captain Sarfaraz Ahmed and Azam Khan.
The wicketkeeper-batsman made 52 off 28 deliveries with three fours and as many sixes.
However, the right-hander Azam was the star performer for the side as he top-scored with 88off 43 deliveries after hitting five boundaries and eight maximums.
Left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir took two wickets for Northern.
