Kane Williamson wants to emulate Babar Azam's cover drives
New Zealand skipper hails Pakistan counterpart's ability to score runs
New Zealand captain Kane Williamson said that he wants to bat like his Pakistan counterpart Babar Azam.
“He (Babar) is a beautiful player to watch,” Kane Williamson was replying to a question regarding what he would like to borrow from the Pakistan cricketer in a conversation with Cricbuzz. “His cover drives and backfoot punches are superb.”
Williamson also praised Babar’s temperament and ability to score runs.
Babar recently replaced wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed as the side’s ODI skipper and was Pakistan’s highest run-getter in last year’s Cricket World Cup with 474 runs from eight games at an average of 67.71.
