He first got bail in the case on June 26, 2019. Since then, he has obtained extensions in his bail five times, citing illness, going for Hajj and travelling abroad. Riaz has not shown up for the past three hearings of a land case against him in the Rawalpindi court. Judge Nisar Ahmed Khan heard the case. Warrants have been issued for his arrest. The case pertains to 1,401 kanals of land in Rawat's Azizpur. A case was lodged against him 10 years ago at the anti-corruption police station on charges of fraud and making threats under the Anti-Corruption Act.
