SBCA gears up for action against illegal structures in Karachi

14 directors transferred ahead of operation next month
The Sindh Building Control Authority is all set to launch a major crackdown against illegal structures in Karachi. SBCA DG Iftikhar Qaimkhani has formed a new team in the run up to the action against the illegal buildings in the city. Senior officials have been directed to complete the survey. Fourteen directors have been transferred for the operation. They include nine directors, four deputy directors and one assistant director. Director Adil Umar Siddiqui has been transferred from New Karachi to the Design Section-II while director Idrees Abdul Ghaffar removed from Landhi/Korangi to Bin Qasim. Director Nadeem Anwar has been moved to Malir from Gadap Town and director Ismail from Bin Qasim Town to the Record Section. Related: SBCA declares three housing projects illegal Director Asif Ali Rizvi who was working in Baldia/SITE Town has been transferred to Korangi/Landhi and director Liaquatabad Safdar Ali Magsi to New Karachi. Director Design Section-II Irfan Haider Naqvi has been moved to the Licencing Section and director Abdul Rehman Bhatti from the Record Section to Orangi Town. Deputy director Structure Section-I Faheem Murtaza has been deputed to Baldia Town and deputy director New Karachi Zargham Haider to SITE Town. Deputy director Baldia/SITE Town Abdul Sami Jamalaney has been assigned duties in Liaquatabad Town and deputy director Gulberg Town Zaheer Ahmed in Saddar Town-I. Meanwhile, deputy director Saddar Town-II Ashfaq Hussain Khokhar is posted as deputy director Kemari Town. However, he has been asked to continue working in Saddar Town-II as well.
