German Ambassador to Pakistan Martin Kobler, who has won the hearts of Pakistanis in the last two years, bid farewell today (Wednesday). Kobler arrived in Pakistan as German ambassador in August 2017 and announced his retirement in early March this year.

The ambassador held a farewell brunch on Monday to celebrate his two-year-long stay in the country.

He also posted an emotional farewell video on his Twitter account. In the video, he said, "I must say I’m leaving the country with a sad heart but be sure I will come back as an ordinary tourist.”
