German ambassador Martin Kobler bids farewell to Pakistan

He stayed in the country for two years

German Ambassador to Pakistan Martin Kobler, who has won the hearts of Pakistanis in the last two years, bid farewell today (Wednesday). Kobler arrived in Pakistan as German ambassador in August 2017 and announced his retirement in early March this year. The ambassador held a farewell brunch on Monday to celebrate his two-year-long stay in the country. He also posted an emotional farewell video on his Twitter account. In the video, he said, "I must say I’m leaving the country with a sad heart but be sure I will come back as an ordinary tourist.” Throughout his stay in Pakistan, he enjoyed the local culture and shared updates on his life through his Twitter. The ambassador has over 200K followers on Twitter. Here are a few of his tweets in which his love for Pakistan was admirable. Before leaving, Martin also met many people from President Arif Alvi to the FC guards who provided him security and the packers who helped him move.
