The family of a model who was allegedly murdered 12 days ago in Karachi have accused her friend of killing her.
Rubab Zaidi’s body was found on February 22 in Karachi’s Mochko. Zaidi, who was also known as Hani, had recently returned to Karachi from Oman. The police believe she died of a drug overdose but her family have accused her friend, Umar, of murdering her.
The police have said that the cause of death will be ascertained after the results of the chemical exam of samples taken during the post-mortem examination return.
Zaidi’s sister said she knew the accused very well. She questioned why he did not attend her sister’s funeral if the two were such close friends.

She said Zaidi left home to go shopping and never returned. She said her sister left with Umar in a blue car.
The model got divorced around seven years ago and her family claimed that the furniture and other things that were part of her dowry had been kept at Umar and his sister Sana’s house. Sana was also friends with Zaidi.

Zaidi’s mother said her daughter did not do drugs nor did she have any enemies. She said the family had given the police all the information they had, but the law enforcers had yet to find the culprit.
According to the post-mortem report, injection marks were found on both of Zaidi’s arms and scratches on her neck and chest.
