A delegation of opposition MNAs met National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser at his residence on Saturday and submitted a requisition request for an NA session on PML-N President and leader of the opposition Shehbaz Sharif’s arrest.
The delegation, comprising of PML-N, JUI and JI leaders, visited the speaker at his Islamabad residence where they submitted a requisition to call the assembly session as soon as possible after Shehbaz Sharif’s arrest.
Qaiser assured them that he will call the session within 14 days.
Shehbaz was detained on Friday by the NAB in the Ashiana Housing scam. NAB was granted a 10-day physical remand of Shehbaz by an accountability court on Saturday.
The delegation comprised of Raja Zafarul Haq, Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Rana Tanvir, Ayaz Sadiq and Tahira Aurangzeb. They expressed concern over his arrest.

Sadiq also telephoned former opposition leader Khursheed Shah of the PPP and requested him to support the requisition.
Shah said that he could not sign the requisition because he is not present is Islamabad. However, he said that he talked to PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who fully supports calling the NA session.
Shah condemned Shehbaz's arrest and said that the opposition leader is an integral part of the parliament. He also said that the government should have informed the parliament of his arrest.
