From dentist to president: Arif Alvi has been appointed president of Pakistan

Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided to appoint MNA Dr Arif Alvi as the president of Pakistan. Dr Alvi will give up his NA-247 Karachi seat and will instead take up the office of president. He will take charge once President Mamnoon Hussain's tenure ends in a few days. Dr Alvi is a dentist by profession and is one of the founding members of the PTI.
