Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first. They scored 181/6 in their 20 overs. Fakhar Zaman made 46 runs from 36 balls with four boundaries and a six to his name. Captain Sarfraz Ahmed scored 29 runs for the team after hitting three boundaries while Umar Amin made 21 runs from seven balls which included three sixes. Haris Sohail, after hitting three boundaries, contributed 20 runs with the bat. Ish Sodhi and Mitchell Santner grabbed two wickets for New Zealand while Trent Boult and Colin de Grandhomme dismissed one Pakistan batsman each in the match. New Zealand, chasing 182 runs to win from 20 overs, scored 163/6 in 20 overs. Martin Guptill was the top scorer with 59 runs from 43 balls with the help of two boundaries and four sixes. Ross Taylor scored 25 runs from 11 balls after hitting three maximums while Mitchell Santner made 24 runs from 12 balls with the help of three fours and a six. Shadab Khan grabbed two wickets while Aamer Yamin, Rumman Raees, Mohammad Amir and Faheem Ashraf dismissed one Kiwi batsman each in the match.
