Mufti Qavi granted bail in Qandeel Baloch murder case

MULTAN: District and Sessions Judge (D&SJ) Ameer Muhammad Khan on Tuesday granted a bail to Mufti Abdul Qavi who was arrested in connection with the murder of social media celebrity Qandeel Baloch. According to the prosecution, the first hearing in new judicial complex was of Mufti Abdul Qavi's bail application. Mufti Qavi had been directed to furnish surety bonds worth Rs 200,000. Mufti Abdul Qavi was arrested by the police on Oct 18 after rejection of his bail before arrest application from the court. The main accused in the case had already been arrested by the police. Mufti Qavi was arrested after Qandeel Baloch's father stated that he might have some role in the killing of his daughter. The accused remained in police custody on physical remand for 13 days and was in jail on judicial remand for the last 13 days. - SAMAA/AGENCIES
