VIPs please don't ask for free passes: Najam Sethi

Oct 27, 2017
LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Najam Sethi urged VIPs not to demand free passes for the upcoming Pakistan-Sri Lanka T20 clash to be played on Sunday. In a tweet message, Sethi thanked fans for their overwhelming support for the upcoming T20 clash to be played at the Gaddafi stadium between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. In the same message, he requested VIPs to stop demanding free passes. This is the first time that Sri Lanka will be coming to Lahore after the horrifying March 3, 2009 attack. Militants had opened fire on the Sri Lankan cricket team bus, wounding several players. Ever since then, international cricket was not played in Pakistan for several years. However, Zimbabwe's national cricket team toured Pakistan in May 2015. The Pakistan Super League 2016 edition's final was played in Lahore earlier this year. A series between Pakistan and World XI was also held last month, leading to the revival of international cricket in the country once again.
