PHF rejects harassment claims, slaps players with indefinite suspension

Oct 20, 2017
LAHORE: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has rejected claims by goalkeeper Syeda Sadia that she was physically harassed by the team's coach and placed an indefinite ban on the players who made the accusation.  The announcement was made by the PHF Secretary Women's Wing during a press conference held earlier during the day. She rejected the claims made by Syeda Saadia which were backed by another player, Iqra Javaid and termed it as a 'drama'. Coach Saeed Khan was also present during the press conference. Saeed said that he was not at all demoralised due to the incident since he was not guilty. "Neither am I guilty nor am I going anywhere," he said. "Had I been involved and had the accusations been true, I would have fled by now," he added. Syeda Saadia's teammate Iqra Javaid had backed the allegations made by the goalkeeper against the national women's hockey team in a video clip that she posted on social media. The women's hockey team will take part in the upcoming Asian Challenge Women's Hockey Tournament as per schedule, according to the PHF.
