Prices of petroleum products touch record high level

Staff ReportISLAMABAD: The prices of petroleum products touched record highs today as Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) effected the fresh hike, pushing the petrol to Rs.113.25, SAMAA reported Tuesday.Following the issuance of notification, the petrol surged by Rs.4.12 to Rs.113.25 per liter. High-speed diesel also scaled up Rs.4.69/lit to Rs.116.95/lit.Similarly, the price of light-speed diesel also went up to Rs.101.24 up Rs.2.81. Kerosene oil price also soared by Rs.2.14; its new price now stands at Rs.108.14 per liter.The price of high octane also perched on the record level at Rs.143.90 with fresh hike of Rs.5.57.The recent hike in the POL prices has come into effect from the midnight of October 1.The distressed consumers of petrol products complain the new enhanced prices will leave them in dire straits and unleash the prices of commodities of daily use. –SAMAA
