London Mayor Sadiq Khan condemns attacks as 'barbaric'

"This was a deliberate and cowardly attack on innocent Londoners and visitors to our city enjoying their Saturday night," he said, adding: "There is no justification whatsoever for such barbaric acts". sadiq khan

British Prime Minister Theresa May called the events in London a "potential act of terrorism" after reports of a van hitting pedestrians, stabbings and armed police firing shots around the London Bridge area.

"Following updates from police and security officials, I can confirm that the terrible incident in London is being treated as a potential act of terrorism," May said in a statement.  AFP / Samaa
